Lynn Library Launches Summer Hours, Ending All Weekend Service Through September

The Lynn Public Library shifted to its summer schedule Sunday, suspending all Saturday and Sunday service and trimming Friday hours — a change that affects access for residents at the city's central civic resource for the next two months.

All departments at the Lynn Public Library moved July 6 to a new summer schedule running through Sept. 7: Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Friday, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.; closed Saturdays and Sundays. The library at 5 North Common St. will also observe the Labor Day holiday and remain closed Monday, Sept. 7.

The library's 2026 Summer Reading Program, "Plant a Seed, Read," is currently open for enrollment with separate tracks for children, teens, and adults. Registration links are available on the library's website.

The Lynn Public Library hosts two weekly programs this week: Messy Mornings with the LPL runs Tuesday, July 8, from 10 to 11 a.m., a hands-on children's program; and the LPL Teen Tech Space is open Wednesday, July 9, from 3 to 5 p.m. Both programs are scheduled to repeat weekly through August.
