Board of Health · Meeting of May 5, 2026
Lynn Board of Health upholds a $1,000 fine and orders emergency cleanup of a nuisance property. Members voted unanimously to uphold a $1,000 fine and three-day tobacco suspension, set for May 7-9, against a convenience store whose new owner sold a vaping device to a minor on March 28, a $28.70 sale health agent Joyce documented from surveillance footage. "The violation happened.
Now there is the punishment," one board member said. Separately, the board approved a nuisance-abatement order for a Wait Road property where Inspector Rick Nelson of Inspectional Services described years of complaints, rodent burrows, and "about 12 turkeys roaming the yard," amending the compliance window from 24 hours to seven days. The board also granted Jolly Bakes owner Mr.
Jolly a 30-day extension to pursue a special permit for a new adult-only retail location and rescinded a flavored-tobacco citation after testing found no characterizing scent.
