Council on Aging · Meeting of April 22, 2026

Lynn Council on Aging board votes to send revised bylaws to a May vote, moving officer elections to September. Chair Jakutis led the session, where staff member Tanya reported $6,529.37 in combined grant spending for the March 15-April 15 period. Calvin, outgoing chair of the Friends of the Council on Aging, said the group is "proactive rather than just a reactive body" and is funding a new Curious Creatures event in June.

Staff member Rachel said a liability waiver for the senior center's second-floor exercise room will roll out next week, with equipment expected open to residents soon after. The board still has two vacant seats, and a $100,000 MassDOT-funded van has joined the center's transportation fleet, though seniors still prefer the original vehicle, a rider survey found.
