Lynn Disability Commission presses city over unfinished ADA fixes at city hall. Chairperson Rochelle Waterman-Williams told members a July Pride flag-raising event exposed that flagpole access, signage and counter-height upgrades the city had previously received grant funding for were still incomplete, prompting a meeting with the mayor's chief of staff, the interim city planner and ADA Coordinator Jim LaManna. Members approved their June 26 minutes 6-0.
A resident named Bob described a two-hour search for an accessible entrance at an August event, saying "my wife has never been to Lynn Woods, because nobody's been able to tell us" about accessibility there. The commission also received a new Architectural Access Board variance application from Two Life Communities for a Linfield Street project and is weighing a subcommittee vote in October.
