Select Board · Meeting of August 4, 2026
Lynn City Council approved MassDOT agreements installing all-way stop signs at three intersections and let a developer withdraw a Western Avenue housing plan. City Principal Planner Aaron Klassen said the stop-sign deals cover Chatham and Mariana streets, Eastern Avenue and Superior Street, and Ford and Maple streets, calling the installations "really simple safety measures." Council President Allenson said he was "really, really glad that it's moving now." Attorney A.J. Capano told councilors Sing Realty Group LLC had "decided not to proceed with the current six-unit design" at 30-32B Western Avenue after neighbor objections, and the council approved the withdrawal "without prejudice." Councilors also approved the FY27 federal action plan on a stated 10-0 vote and signed off on more than a dozen grants, led by a $6,894,617 Mass Save award for heat pumps at Lynn Vocational Technical Institute.
