School Committee · Meeting of June 11, 2026

Lynn School Committee adopts new Pre-K curriculum and unified K-5 report cards in 7-0 votes. The committee approved Boston Public Schools' "Focus on Pre-K" curriculum, funded through the state PRISM grant, and a standards-based elementary report card replacing three inconsistent formats, both recommended out of the Curriculum Subcommittee chaired by Member Satterwhite. Nursing staff reported 53 school defibrillators districtwide and 258 staff trained in CPR over two years.

Four students from the group Speak Up for Youth asked the committee to adopt "restorative" discipline policies, with one saying a friend "was consistently failed by the adults around him" before being expelled weeks before graduation. The committee also accepted a $5,000 anonymous donation to Hood Elementary and $4,682.25 from Snap Mobile to LVTI softball, and voted to enter executive session on non-union contract negotiations involving interim Superintendent Dr. Molly Cohen.
