Lynn Zoning Board continues Johnson Street variance case to Feb. 3

Lynn Zoning Board elects new officers, punts Johnson Street variance to February. The board unanimously elected member Terry as chair, Olsen as vice chair and Maggio as clerk in its annual reorganization, all by 4-0 roll-call votes. Member Payas recused herself from case CVA 10134, a request from petitioner Julio Andreos and attorney Sam Vitale to vary setback, height and lot-coverage rules for a second dwelling at 79 Johnson Street.

Vitale told the board the city's building department "suggested he consider an ADU" instead, and asked to continue the case to first test a building permit application rather than proceed with a variance that night. The board voted 4-0 to continue the matter to February 3, with the property's existing 19-foot garage, four required parking spaces and 80 percent impervious-coverage cap all still in play.
