Lynn Zoning Board postpones ruling on contested Ocean Street deck variance after nearly two-hour hearing. Trustee Theodore Coronas, represented by attorney Sam Vitale, sought relief of roughly two and a half feet on a rear-deck setback at 206 Ocean Street, citing disability protections for his daughter, Joy, and $500,000 in fire damage from a January 2024 blaze. More than a dozen abutters, including Elizabeth Mooney, Steve Spinelli and Vincent Phelan, argued the real goal is an illegal three-family conversion and cited parking and debris problems.

"This is serious stuff," Coronas told the board. "I don't take life for granted." Board members Krowitz, Gilway, Maggio, Lopez Hernandez and Olsen continued the case to March 3 pending revised site plans, alongside separate continuances of accessory-dwelling-unit cases at 79 Johnson Street and Grandview Avenue.
