Select Board · Meeting of March 24, 2026

LYNN — The Lynn City Council appointed Maura Cronin as the city's first female assistant city solicitor. The personnel subcommittee, chaired by Councilor LaPierre, recommended Cronin over finalist Kevin Ganey following a search led by Personnel Director Drew Russo, and the full council confirmed her by roll call vote. "I would be remiss if I didn't mention that she will be the first woman to take on the role of an assistant city solicitor in our city's history," LaPierre said.

Councilor Nicole McLean and Councilor Paez complained the council received little information during the search. Separately, the council approved $195,000 for a St. Mary's Lynn partnership to rebuild the GEAA field and $425,000 for Ames Park restoration, and learned DPW Commissioner Andrew Hall resigned effective March 27, with Michael Donovan named interim commissioner.
